Goûtique — La Maison du Goût is a small family food business based in Roumieh, El Maten, Lebanon. We sell our sauces, preserves and spice blends through this website at goutique.co.
This page explains what information we collect from you, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal jargon. If anything here is unclear, write to us at sales@goutique.co and we will explain.
What we collect when you place an order
To deliver an order we ask for, and keep:
- Your first and last name
- Your delivery address and city
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- What you ordered, how much you paid, and when
We ask for a phone number because delivery is arranged by hand — someone will usually call or message you to agree a time.
Payment
We currently accept cash on delivery only. That means we never see, handle or store your card details, because no card is ever entered on this website. You pay the person who brings your order.
When you contact us
If you use the form on our Contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you send, and we keep that message so we can reply and follow up. You can also reach us by WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok or email — in which case whatever you send us sits with that service as well as with us.
Cookies and how the site is measured
This website sets a small number of cookies so that basic things work — chiefly remembering what is in your basket while you shop, and speeding up page loading. They are not used to advertise to you.
We also use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) and Jetpack Stats to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they come from. This reaches us as numbers and trends, not as named individuals. These services are run by Google and by Automattic and are subject to their own privacy policies.
Who else sees your information
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will. It is shared only where it is needed to run the business:
- Whoever delivers your order — they receive your name, address and phone number, and nothing else.
- Hostinger, who host this website and therefore store the order records on their servers.
- Google and Automattic (Jetpack), for the website statistics described above.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for our accounts and in case you come back with a question or a problem with an order. Messages sent through the contact form are kept while the conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Website statistics are kept by Google and Jetpack according to their own retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, or to delete it. Write to sales@goutique.co and we will deal with it. We may need to keep the basic record of a completed order for our accounts even after removing the rest.
You can also block or delete cookies in your own browser settings. If you do, the basket on this site may stop remembering what you added.
Children
This shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we start doing something new with your information — taking card payments online, for example, or sending a newsletter — we will update this page before we do it.
